UC Symposium on Inclusive Chinese as a Second Language 12/12, 2020
On December 12, 2020, UCLA hosted the UC Symposium on Inclusive Chinese as a Second Language, which is the very first of its kind in the field of CSL in the United States. The event is reported on the Chinese Language Teacher Association (CLTA) January 2021 issue Newsletter (see the embedded page).
This event provided faculty and graduate teaching assistants of Chinese programs across the UC campuses an opportunity to share their experiences and strategies in promoting inclusive teaching. Participants appreciated this opportunity and expressed enthusiasm for participating in future events on the topic of inclusive classrooms. A proposal to form a special interest group (SIG) of inclusive Chinese within CLTA-USA was discussed.
